who, in the event of the Governors going on leave
for, say, three months, might find himself deprived
of quarters, pay & allowances, while quite prepared
to continue to perform the duty for which he has
been seconded from his regiment, & for which he
must naturally assume that his pay will be continuous,
while so seconded. I therefore hold that when the
Governor is prepared to place his Staff at the
disposal of his locum tenens during his absence, their
services must be accepted.
